I’m a father and cyclist from Vacaville, CA. It’s a small town in between San Francisco and Sacramento. At the age of 11 I fell in love with riding and racing BMX bikes. It was a passion that carried on throughout my teenage and early adult years. Some of the best times I have had on a bike were at the Vans Skatepark in Milpitas on bike night, or taking the last BART train into San Francisco and riding all night just to take the first train back to the East Bay. It was during these late night street sessions in the city where I saw my first fixed gear bike. This opened my eyes to a whole new type of riding. I quickly bought an old 1980s Fuji Palisade road bike and converted it to a fixed gear and rode around the city. As I got older and moved around I found that a road bike was a more practical way of getting around. Since then I began riding gravel and mountain bikes all while still keeping my BMX roots. If there is a jump I’m going to hit it. I picked up a camera to capture where I was riding. Northern California is a utopia for riding bikes. It’s the birthplace of mountain bike riding so there’s always trails to ride. From the coast to the redwood forest we have the best landscape California has to offer.
